Summer is finally here. School is out and vacation plans made. Make it your priority to attend our 5th Annual Neonatal Care Conference on July 19th in Cedar Rapids. Prolacta is sponsoring our key note speaker, Terry Johnson. Many of you have heard Terry. She is a well-known national speaker and she provides wealth of knowledge on the exclusive human milk diet for the low birthweight baby. I love her passion and dedication. I recently attended a Prolacta presentation and tour at the company. The research they shared was fascinating. Be sure to spread the word about our conference. I have extra brochures I can send out. You will not want to miss this great day we have planned!
The conference brochure is attached with the newsletter. Register by July 1st to avoid a late charge. The IANN business meeting will follow the conference. We will also have a drawing for our second $75 membership scholarship. Congratulations to Renee Chiaramonte for winning the first one at our April meeting and Jade Kalmes for winning a conference registration. IANN membership benefits include financial assistance for annual dues. This was implemented at our January meeting. There is also financial assistance for attending the NANN conference and other conferences. Take advantage of the many opportunities IANN offers. We are here for you.
Another way to be involved in IANN is to run for office. Be thinking about this wonderful opportunity. Many of our members have held an officer position and would be happy to share their experiences. We will talk more about this at the meeting. We will vote on new officers by email in September and the officers will be announced at the October meeting. The new IANN board will begin their responsibilities at the January 2018 meeting. Being an officer not your thing? Volunteer for a committee, help plan the 2018 conference or update the website. There are many, many opportunities.
Remember, everything we do is for the babies!
See you soon,
